Our first 8 kilometres today were on the road. It was quite a scenic road, with little traffic. |
Our route this morning took us on a country road for about 8 kilometres to the town of Xertigny. We stocked up on supplies for the day, and took in some of the sights of the town.

We then found a combination of roads, forest trails and dubious pathways to take us towards Remiremont. This part of the country is very sparsely populated. The terrain is quite hilly, which made for picturesque views and pleasurable walking.

There was also a bit of walking on forest paths, although not as much as yesterday. |
Probably a public path |
We were even on the GR7 for a bit of the way |

As usual, some of the locals were quite interested in what we were up to, and came over for a chat. |

Brilliant all round. Lovely scenery as we have come to expect to see and of course those humorous photos. You really should slow down Kath, you are on holidays, unless you are on a "probably public path"
ReplyDeleteWell I was keen to get into our bed and breakfast - a bath was advertised - but I'll do my best to slow down from now on. 😊
