We reached a significant milestone today - the first 100 kilometres of our walk. Of course, we took a ceremonial selfie to celebrate.

100 kilometres walked - time for a selfie |
We headed out this morning along a collection of walking and cycle paths. We crossed a bridge which appeared to be closed, and walked for several kilometres alongside the Somme River. There were wonderful reflections in the river (and in the odd puddle) all the way. It rained on and off, but not heavily enough to dent our progress or our enjoyment of the journey.

Heading out this morning - a bit of rain, a tricky bridge, and wonderful reflections |
After a couple of hours of riverside walking, we stopped in the village of Pont-Rémy to stock up on supplies for morning tea and lunch.

Another couple of hours along the Somme, punctuated by a refreshment stop (yes, healthy fruit was involved) and we arrived in the village of Long. We found it a very picturesque village and stopped there for lunch. And a Long series of puns. |

Once we had checked in to our accommodation, we settled in to our nightly routine - showers, wash clothes, organise dinner, and prepare for the next day's walk.
