We didn't have far to walk today, but with numerous stops for morning tea, lunch, bird-watching, swimming, etc, it took us all day to do it.
We were very slow travellers today |
We started the day with a steep descent to the lake.
From our accommodation we went downhill . . . |
. . . towards Lake Geneva |
through the vineyards |
The path hugged the lake for some distance.
We were walking very close to the lake |
Along Lake Geneva to Ouchy |
We found a place for lunch in Ouchy |
We ordered the fondue |

After lunch, we headed for one of Lausanne's lakeside beaches. There were loads of people enjoying the summer sunshine down by the lake.

After a couple of us braved the not-too-warm waters of the lake, we walked up through Lausanne to our accommodation.
Through the streets of Lausanne |
For the third time this trip (after Amiens and Reims), we have a view of a Gothic cathedral from our accommodation. We enjoyed seeing it in the changing light as the sun went down - a wonderful end to another wonderful day on the road.
Once again, we have enjoyed special views from our accommodation. This time it's Lausanne cathedral and rooftops |
