This was a relatively short day's walk, pretty much downhill all the way. The first few kilometres involved a very steep descent from Wengen to Lauterbrunnen.
We left Wengen bright and early |
And looked for the signpost to direct us to Lauterbrunnen |
It was all downhill from there |
With wonderful views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley on the way down |
Down the hill to Lauterbrunnen |
We still had those mountain views as we approached the valley floor |
Down in the valley |
After a breakfast stop in Lauterbrunnen, we walked alongside the Lütschine River through Gsteigwiler and Wilderswil into Interlaken. Again, it was pretty much downhill all the way.

Downhill on the path |
As always, the signs point the way |
Entering Gsteigwiler |
Downhill on the path |
Downhill over the cog railway |
A covered bridge in Wilderswil |
Tandem paragliding is very popular in Interlaken |
We do enjoy seeing the cows in Switzerland. This one is in Interlaken. |
A boat coming into Interlaken from Lake Thun |
Another mountain view from our hotel room. This one's the Jungfrau. |
On arriving in Interlaken we headed for a phone repair shop to see if they could fix our broken screen. Two hours later, the job was done. The screen is fixed. The phone is usable again, and ready for the challenging days ahead.

Poem of the Day:
GORGEOUS DAY
Dropping deep descent assists my leg
muscles to forge
Rapid river running through the
gorgeous gushy gorge
Simple speedy stroll along the valley,
mostly down
Mindless mere meander through the
trendy textured town
Splendour of the storm to see
From safety of the balcony
Wind, slippery paths and bog
Hail, pelting rain and fog
