We continued our walk around the northern shore of Lake Lucerne along the Waldstätterweg, via Küssnacht and Meggen to Lucerne. We started this morning by the lake side at Weggis, enjoying the scenery before heading on.

The walk to Küssnacht was straightforward. The path was wide and well-marked, with frequent lake and mountain views.

After a stop in Küssnacht we continued on the Waldstätterweg through Meggen and on to Luzern.
Küssnacht |
The section of the path between Küssnacht and Meggen meanders a bit. It took us up a few climbs, through a forest, and eventually down to the lake again.

We found a picnic lunch spot in the forest |
The path notes describe this section as "a stroll with views of the Alps" |

From Meggen the path continued roughly following the shoreline. There were vineyards, lakeside bathing areas, and even a castle.

The Waldstätterweg entered Lucerne via the lake shore. It was a very scenic entrance to one of Switzerland's most popular cities.

EASY STROLL
Today's walking path was described as
an easy stroll.
In Australia,
An easy stroll
Is a breezy roll
By the sea.
In Switzerland,
An easy stroll
Takes a wheezy toll
On me.
